My entry into the anti-cliché contest.
Why is this anti-cliché? Its a more personal anti-cliché. My gallery is full of manips of people and I think there is only one manip with just objects. I decided to challenge myself by using only objects and animals in this piece. Thats what the competition is all about after all ^^ What else is anti-cliché? 1. Wings. I love colourful, butterfly wings, so I chose to use a moth because they are duller and less vibrant. 2. Most of my manips are full of colour and vibrancy. So I chose to use a simpler, duller and semi-monotoned colour (brown). From this I've found a new respect for those artists that use colours such as this, choosing duller, more detailed pieces over ones full of colour, they may lack that detail you could include in pieces such as this. 3. Lastly, this piece is much more conceptual than most of my pieces. Its about finding that light, like a moth. Finding that thing that makes you happy and sticking with it. Why call it colour me beautiful? Because its about finding that respect for artists that create less colourful pieces. Ive really found a new love for it, and I tell you what, its so much harder than getting gorgeous colours and making you piece colourful and vibrant! And there it is my manipulation for the anti-cliché contest.
